2026 Platform Comparison

Avidon Health vs. Carepatron

Looking for a Carepatron alternative built for behavior change rather than clinical documentation? Carepatron is a capable, genuinely inexpensive practice management and notes platform with a signed BAA and its own SOC 2. What it does not include is the program your coaches deliver. That distinction is the whole comparison.

The short answer

Carepatron is cheaper per seat, and we will not pretend otherwise. Published list pricing is $31 per user per month on Plus and $39 on Advanced, with unlimited clients on every tier. If your evaluation is a cost-per-seat spreadsheet, Carepatron wins it.

Avidon is the program, not the paperwork. 40+ CBT and ACT based courses, 700+ resources, 20+ challenge templates and a readiness assessment ship with the platform. Across 2,981 members in our GLP-1 courses, understanding of GLP-1 therapy rose from 5.5 to 8.9 out of 10.

Ask one question before you decide: who is writing the twelve-week adherence curriculum, in which languages, and by when? That cost never appears on a per-seat quote.

One is a workspace. One is a program.

Both are useful. They solve different halves of the problem, and only one of them is the half most coaching teams are actually stuck on.

Carepatron

A clinical workspace, priced well

Carepatron handles scheduling, client messaging, session notes with an AI scribe, treatment plans, telehealth and payments. It offers a Business Associate Agreement, holds SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2, and bundles a 1:1 onboarding manager at the Advanced tier.

It is a well-built, well-reviewed product. What arrives on day one is an empty workspace and a library of blank clinical templates.

Avidon Health

A measured program you can reshape

Avidon arrives with sequenced behavior change curricula, a readiness assessment that routes members by risk, challenges and incentives to keep them moving, and automated between-session outreach.

Your coaches then clone any course or challenge and rewrite it, build their own with no-code tools, or upload their own content. Proven default, your protocol when you need it.

Information about Carepatron reflects publicly available sources as of Q3 2026, including its product pages, pricing page, help documentation and security pages. “None found” means we could not locate the capability or a published member health outcome in public materials. Capabilities change frequently. Verify current details directly with each vendor before making a decision.

The line item nobody quotes

A $39 seat does not include the twelve weeks of content your coaches deliver.

This is the honest arithmetic. Carepatron at Advanced list price is roughly $39 per practitioner per month with unlimited clients, which for a twenty-coach team is about $9,400 a year. That is a very good price for what it is.

What it is not is a program. Someone on your team still has to author the curriculum, get it clinically reviewed, translate it, keep it current, and find some way to show it works. That work is months of specialist time, and it is the reason coaching programs launch late and thin.

Avidon prices for the population rather than the seat, and the curriculum is already in the box.

  • 40+ courses written, clinically reviewed and maintained by us
  • Sequenced curricula with pacing and automated messaging
  • 14 languages, natively translated rather than machine-translated at read time
  • Challenges, trackers and incentives that keep members moving between sessions
  • Published outcomes you can hand to a benefits or clinical committee

When to pick them instead

We will tell you to buy Carepatron

If you are a small clinical or coaching team that already owns its curriculum, needs HIPAA-aligned notes, scheduling and telehealth, and is buying on cost per seat, Carepatron is the better answer and we will say so on the call.

Where we win is the deal where the program itself is the thing you are missing.

Measured on members, not on admin time.

Self-rated understanding rose from 5.5 to 8.9 out of 10, measured by pairing each member’s own answers before and after the course rather than comparing two group averages. Analyzed across 2,981 members and 4,356 enrollments.

Participation in these programs was incentivized, so the population self-selected. Read these as outcomes among engaged participants rather than a population-wide effect. Within the obese cohort specifically, 62% lowered BMI, with an average reduction of 12%.

GLP-1 figures come from a de-identified production analysis of 2,981 distinct members, 4,356 enrollments and 171,040 survey responses, generated September 2026, self-reported at completion and paired at the individual member level with no control group, so they are descriptive. The tobacco figure is from a controlled study with San Diego State University. We could not locate a published member health outcome from Carepatron. Read the full coaching efficacy report →

So which one should you choose?

If you are shopping for a Carepatron alternative, here is the honest split. We would rather tell you the truth than win a bad-fit deal.

Choose Carepatron if

You own the curriculum already

  • You are buying on cost per practitioner seat and the spreadsheet decides
  • You already have a behavior change curriculum and only need workflow around it
  • You need HIPAA-aligned clinical documentation, notes and telehealth first
  • An AI scribe on session notes is a hard requirement today
  • You want to start same-day on a credit card with a free tier to trial

Choose Avidon Health if

You need the program to exist

  • You need a behavior change program live in weeks with no content budget
  • Your population is larger than your coaching capacity
  • Engagement is the problem: assessments, challenges, trackers and incentives working together
  • Members speak more than one language and machine translation is not acceptable
  • You are accountable for health outcomes and need published evidence
  • You want the option of credentialed coaching staff, not only software

Common Questions About Avidon Health vs. Carepatron.

Is Avidon Health a Carepatron alternative?

For coaching operations, yes. If you are evaluating Carepatron to run a behavior change or health coaching program, Avidon delivers the coaching workflow plus the curriculum, assessments, challenges, incentives and multilingual member experience that Carepatron asks you to supply yourself.

If you need clinical documentation and telehealth for a small practice and already own your curriculum, Carepatron is likely the better fit.

Is Carepatron cheaper than Avidon Health?

On a per-seat basis, yes. Carepatron publishes $31 per user per month on Plus and $39 on Advanced, with unlimited clients on every tier, plus a free tier. Avidon prices for population programs rather than per clinician seat.

The comparison that matters is total cost of ownership. Add the cost of authoring, clinically reviewing, translating and maintaining a behavior change library to any platform that does not include one, and the two numbers move a long way toward each other.

Does Carepatron include behavior change content?

No. Based on published documentation as of Q3 2026, Carepatron provides blank clinical templates and a large library of downloadable worksheets, which are forms a clinician fills in rather than sequenced programs with pacing, methodology and automated participant messaging. Avidon includes 40+ CBT and ACT based courses and 700+ curated resources as part of the platform.

How does white labeling compare?

Per Carepatron’s own help documentation, white labeling covers a logo upload and a theme color, available on the Advanced plan, with no custom domain or branded mobile app documented. Avidon includes branding, custom URL, email templates and member-facing collateral.

Is Carepatron HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 certified?

Yes on both, and we would not suggest otherwise. Carepatron offers a Business Associate Agreement and lists SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 among its certifications. Avidon operates a SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified environment on Microsoft Azure with BAAs in place. Compliance is not the differentiator between these two products.

Does Avidon Health provide coaches, or just software?

Both, and it is your choice. Run the platform with your own coaching team, or add Avidon’s credentialed coaching staff to extend capacity without a hiring cycle. Our coaches are employed, trained to one standard and supervised, with the same coach every session. Carepatron is software only.

See a program that already works, then change it.

Twenty minutes is enough to see a working behavior change program and watch us reconfigure it live. Bring your hardest population and your own protocols.
